About Us
Our Philosophy
Our Vision, Mission & Values

Michael has a full-time therapeutic practice in Calgary with over 20 years counselling experience working in Canada and Europe. He is also the Counselling Director for Solutions for Life Management Inc. Together we are a team of professional psychotherapists and counsellors assisting people with issues relating to depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, performance, addictions, trauma and relationships.

Clients wanting change often tell us they’ve been stuck in a problem that has been going on for weeks, months and even years. Working with a professional can help assist a client better than if they try and go it alone. The therapeutic relationship between a client and a counsellor can help assist in constructive life change by providing listening, feedback, insight, working together at solutions and, when need be, using specific therapies in helping clients attain the desired change whether it be personal or relational. We believe in offering counselling and therapy that is solution-focused without compromising depth.

To be compassionate, professional and competent in assisting clients desirous in working through personal and relational life challenges.

To provide counselling and therapy in a comfortable environment that can help people gain insight, learn new skills, heal and live a more satisfying life in a way that supports growth and positive change.

1. Active Listening. The first part of any counselling process is first to hear where clients are at: their frustrations, worries, doubts, fears, concerns, problems, strengths, vision, desires and passions. This involves the therapist actively participating through feed-back, questions and, of course, more listening.

2. Interactive Counselling & Therapy. People want more than support and kindness from a professional counsellor. We believe in working with clients in an interactive, engaging manner that promotes creative dialogue around the specific challenges they are facing thereby enhancing insight, problem-solving and new learning.

3. Collaborative & Practical. Whenever applicable and requested by clients, we assist in creating a practical plan that promotes the experience of desired changes in everyday life. This is done in collaboration with clients as we team together to bridge what we work on in session with what occurs in their everyday life experience.

4. Client Ability. New learning helps us live better lives. We believe that people have the ability to learn how to improve emotional regulation, increase self-worth, resolve conflict, better communicate, experience healing, recover from unhealthy habits, develop self-motivation, find direction/meaning and experience a greater sense of overall well-being.

5. Satisfied Living by Facing our Problems. We believe that, no matter ones challenges or life circumstance, it is possible for people to live an authentically satisfying life. This means facing our problems, pain and challenges head on by seeking to transform them into something that works better for our lives.
